Through the exchange program, I was able to spend a year in the USA as a student for about one year. It was an amazing experience. During the exchange program period, I stayed with my Host Family in Michigan and studied in a nearby high school. My Host Family (Gramy and her family) treated me very kindly and they all looked after me as I was a member of their family. I joined all their family activities. Gramy taught me English and they also took me to see every thing of their living such as their religion, culture, values, food, traveling and etc. Off course, I enjoyed very much and I learnt a lot from them too.

Throughout the exchange program, I was studying in a high school (CTA) there as an American school boy. I attended the classes and participated in all the school activities and functions. It was an altogether new learning experience. I needed not to wear school uniform when I went to the school. The students were free to ask and discuss and they learn in a very open and active atmosphere. As an exchange student, I could see the curriculum of the subjects such as English, Mathematics, Geography and History were quite different and much more interesting. At the same time, I had many friends in the school. Some of them were local Americans and some were exchange students coming from Korea and Brazil. I still remember that I shared my birthday cakes with them there.

The exchange program gives me a great experience and which should include many happy and enjoyable memories. I feel confident more than ever as I could go out of my home and completed a challenging learning program thousands of miles away. For sure, I must try to make good use of what I have learnt and hopefully show them up in my studies ahead.
